Palmaria Island

Another easy, relaxing day. We went to Palmaria Island by boat around 9am. This island is really close, just opposite Portovenere. We were there in no time.

Once there we went for the trail walk around the island.
This time my sisters decided to study the map of the trail carefully before starting.

Not far into the walk, there was a sign warning us about a difficult stretch.
Marisa decided to stop there and go back to the beach and sunbathe instead. Who can blame her? 🙂
Eliana and I continued nevertheless.
We walked about 6km – we decided to take a shortcut instead of doing the whole island as we didn't want Marisa to wait for us for too long.
We didn't need to worry as she soon found out a spot where she could hire umbrellas and chairs and buy food and drinks.
The walk wasn't hard at all, except for a few short stretches at the beginning. And again we enjoyed some gorgeous views from the top.
After the walk, we joined Marisa at the beach for some lazy, relaxing time.

We had lunch at a nice restaurant at the island.
And, I'm not ashamed to say, gelato afterwards! What a great day. At the end of it we took the boat back to the Ostello and had an early night.
